Business Travel Can Be Lonely

Sitting in a hotel room night after night by yourself can be a lonely experience, but I'm guessing many of you business travellers do this week after week.

I find it overly easy to while away the hours doing work, all the while robbing myself of my own time and donating it to the company I work for.

This can be pretty unrewarding as this time spent is rarely acknowledged and rarely paid.

Sure, alot can be accomplished in that time, and I do tend to feel like I am getting things done, but.....

So today I arrived in Brisbane with nothing much on the agenda with my single day off for two weeks and decided that for the most, this day was to be mine.

What to do I thought.

I can't say I have been to the movies on my own too many times, but today was one of those times, and I have to say, it felt good.

A surprising number of solo movie goers turned up - something I haven't noticed when watching a flick with friends, but today I did.

I'm wondering - what do others do to fill in the "after" hours when travelling to work?
